This was a great study and as a mother of an adolescent – I think it is super relevant. I do believe parental influence matters. My question is about the comments variable – is that assessing comments specifically about the body or comments in general?
Hello! We are glad you are interested in our study. As for the comments variable, the survey consisted of general comments about the body as well as direct quotes of potential comments individuals could have heard their parental figure mention. Thank you!

This research topic was very interesting. Do you think that the way the survey was advertised had anything to do with the women who participated? I feel like a survey directed towards body image might draw in more people who are self-conscious about the way they look, so that may affect the responses given.
I wonder what the weight of different positive/negative comments from a parent would be if you were studying people with one parental figure in their lives, rather than two.
