It is so frightening, the vicious cycle that leads to people becoming more and more entrenched in their belief systems, whether they are based on fact or not. I’m a bit confused by the point you made in your “effects” section, but other than that, you have provided a convincing argument, clearly stated and succinctly presented.
Social media has certainly brought confirmation bias to the forefront! Perfect topic for an infographic as more people need to be aware of how their belief systems are manipulated by online content. I agree with Dr. Macintosh’s comment about the effect section; it seems to suggest change is more the norm (“does not have a definite shape”) rather than an inability or unwillingness to change. Perhaps we are misreading it.
